New South Wales holds the biggest share of working artists in the country, and they are nowhere near all in Sydney. The studios spread from the inner west out through the Blue Mountains, up the coast to the Northern Rivers, and down to the far south coast.

Every town on this page has one of its own. Buying from someone in the next suburb usually means you can go and see the piece first, and carry it home yourself.
Sydney has the auction houses and the commercial galleries, so it is also where the mark up is steepest. Buying from the maker cuts that out. If you are in the city you can usually drive to the studio inside two hours, look at the piece properly, and take it home in the boot.
Ceramics cluster heavily around Byron Bay and the Northern Rivers, where the studio pottery scene has been strong since the seventies. The Blue Mountains around Katoomba run to painting and printmaking. Bathurst, Orange and Mudgee have quietly built up a maker population as people left the city, and the South Coast towns like Kiama and Bega have small, serious studio communities.
Every piece has its own page with a way to write to the artist directly. You send an enquiry, they answer it themselves, and you settle payment and collection between you. ArtFlow Pro does not take a commission on the sale and does not sit in the middle of the conversation.
Yes. The price on a listing is set by the person who made the work. There is no gallery margin added on top and no bidding.
That is between you and the artist, and many are happy to arrange it. Ask in your enquiry. Seeing a piece in person is the main practical advantage of buying from someone in your own area.
The artist arranges it, so ask about it when you enquire. Collection in person is common for larger or fragile work, and it is usually the cheapest and safest option if you are close enough.
Create an account, catalogue a piece, and switch on public listing for it. Listing is off by default, so nothing of yours appears publicly until you choose it. The free tier is a real one rather than a trial.
