Australia
The Northern Territory has the most distinctive art of anywhere in the country, and most of it comes through community art centres rather than commercial galleries. Darwin and Alice Springs are the two points where it reaches the market.
Every town on this page has one of its own. Buying from someone in the next suburb usually means you can go and see the piece first, and carry it home yourself.
No work listed in Northern Territory yet
Artists choose whether their work is shown publicly, and nobody here has switched it on so far. This page fills itself in as soon as one does.
No work has been listed in Northern Territory yet, so here is what other makers around the country currently have available. Each piece says who made it, and their page says where they work.
Provenance matters more here than anywhere else in Australia. Buying through a channel that pays the artist properly is the whole question, and buying direct from the maker is the clearest way to know that you have. Ask where the work was made and who it was made by. Anyone selling honestly will tell you straight away.
Central Desert painting out of Alice Springs and the surrounding communities is what most people know. Arnhem Land and the Tiwi Islands have their own traditions, working in bark, carving and weaving, and they are entirely separate from the desert painting. Darwin is where a lot of it is shown and sold, and it has a growing group of makers working outside those traditions as well.
Every piece has its own page with a way to write to the artist directly. You send an enquiry, they answer it themselves, and you settle payment and collection between you. ArtFlow Pro does not take a commission on the sale and does not sit in the middle of the conversation.
Yes. The price on a listing is set by the person who made the work. There is no gallery margin added on top and no bidding.
That is between you and the artist, and many are happy to arrange it. Ask in your enquiry. Seeing a piece in person is the main practical advantage of buying from someone in your own area.
The artist arranges it, so ask about it when you enquire. Collection in person is common for larger or fragile work, and it is usually the cheapest and safest option if you are close enough.
Create an account, catalogue a piece, and switch on public listing for it. Listing is off by default, so nothing of yours appears publicly until you choose it. The free tier is a real one rather than a trial.
Catalogue what you have made, give every piece a page you can send to a buyer, and appear on this one. Listing is off until you switch it on, and the free tier does not expire.
