Australia
Tasmania has more working artists per head than any other state, and the reasons are not mysterious: cheap space, a landscape people want to make work about, and a run of decades where artists moved south and stayed.
Every town on this page has one of its own. Buying from someone in the next suburb usually means you can go and see the piece first, and carry it home yourself.
No work listed in Tasmania yet
Artists choose whether their work is shown publicly, and nobody here has switched it on so far. This page fills itself in as soon as one does.
No work has been listed in Tasmania yet, so here is what other makers around the country currently have available. Each piece says who made it, and their page says where they work.
The island is small enough that most of its makers are within a couple of hours of each other, so a weekend can genuinely cover several studios. If you are buying from the mainland, ask about freight early. It is the one part of buying Tasmanian work that catches people out.
Hobart carries most of it, and the museum and festival traffic of the last fifteen years changed the market there considerably. Launceston and the north have their own scene, older and quieter. The state's timber is the thing that sets its craft apart: Tasmanian furniture and woodwork use species that are not commercially available anywhere else, and the makers who work with them are the reason people fly down.
Every piece has its own page with a way to write to the artist directly. You send an enquiry, they answer it themselves, and you settle payment and collection between you. ArtFlow Pro does not take a commission on the sale and does not sit in the middle of the conversation.
Yes. The price on a listing is set by the person who made the work. There is no gallery margin added on top and no bidding.
That is between you and the artist, and many are happy to arrange it. Ask in your enquiry. Seeing a piece in person is the main practical advantage of buying from someone in your own area.
The artist arranges it, so ask about it when you enquire. Collection in person is common for larger or fragile work, and it is usually the cheapest and safest option if you are close enough.
Create an account, catalogue a piece, and switch on public listing for it. Listing is off by default, so nothing of yours appears publicly until you choose it. The free tier is a real one rather than a trial.
Catalogue what you have made, give every piece a page you can send to a buyer, and appear on this one. Listing is off until you switch it on, and the free tier does not expire.
