By medium
Furniture and objects in wood, usually made one at a time by the person selling them. Australian makers have access to timbers that are not available anywhere else, and Tasmania in particular is why people travel to buy this work.
The same medium, narrowed to one state. Useful if you would rather not freight something fragile across the country.
No work listed in woodwork yet
Artists choose whether their work is shown publicly, and nobody here has switched it on so far. This page fills itself in as soon as one does.
No work has been listed in woodwork yet, so here is what other makers around the country currently have available. Each piece says who made it, and their page says where they work.
Ask what the species is and where it came from. Ask how it is finished, because oil, wax and lacquer need different things from you over the years. For furniture, ask how it is joined. A maker who does this properly will be glad to be asked.
Wood moves with the seasons and a small amount of movement is the material working as it should. Keep pieces away from heating vents and out of direct sun. Oiled surfaces want redoing every year or two, and it takes about twenty minutes.
Each piece has its own page with an enquiry form that goes straight to the maker. You agree price, payment and delivery with them. There is no commission taken out of the sale and no auction.
Everything listed is made by the artist selling it. Where a piece is one of an edition, the listing says so and the artist will tell you the edition size if you ask.
Some artists prefer to discuss price on enquiry, particularly for larger or commissioned work. Those listings show Price on enquiry rather than a number, and you get an answer by writing to them.
Many of the artists here take commissions. It is not a listed option, so ask in an enquiry and describe what you have in mind, including your budget and when you need it.
Yes. Set up an account, add a piece with photographs and measurements, and turn on public listing. Nothing is public until you say so, and the free tier does not expire.
Catalogue what you have made, give every piece a page you can send to a buyer, and appear on this one. Listing is off until you switch it on, and the free tier does not expire.
