Photographic work is sold in editions, and the edition is most of what you are buying. Two prints of the same image at different sizes and edition sizes are priced very differently, for reasons worth understanding before you buy.

Ask what it is printed on and how it is mounted, because those decide how long it lasts and how it hangs. Find out the edition size and the number. A photographer who is straight with you about both is telling you something about how they work.
Pigment prints on rag paper last decades if they are kept out of sun and damp. Face mounted work under acrylic scratches easily and cannot be cleaned with anything abrasive, so ask before you wipe it.
