Ask about the finish and whether the piece is intended for outdoors. A waxed interior finish will not last a winter outside. For anything structural or wall mounted, ask what fixings it needs and what it weighs.
Steel left outside will develop a patina and then stabilise, which is usually the intention. Indoors, a wax finish wants refreshing occasionally. Brass and copper will darken unless you polish them, and most makers would rather you let them.
Each piece has its own page with an enquiry form that goes straight to the maker. You agree price, payment and delivery with them. There is no commission taken out of the sale and no auction.
Everything listed is made by the artist selling it. Where a piece is one of an edition, the listing says so and the artist will tell you the edition size if you ask.
