By medium
Contemporary jewellery in Australia sits somewhere between craft and sculpture, and a lot of the makers on the platform trained as sculptors or silversmiths. The work ranges from wearable everyday pieces to things made to be looked at.
The same medium, narrowed to one state. Useful if you would rather not freight something fragile across the country.
No work listed in jewellery yet
Artists choose whether their work is shown publicly, and nobody here has switched it on so far. This page fills itself in as soon as one does.
No work has been listed in jewellery yet, so here is what other makers around the country currently have available. Each piece says who made it, and their page says where they work.
Ask what the metal is and whether it is solid or plated, because plating wears through and the timeline depends on how you wear it. Get the measurements. Ring sizing after the fact is possible with some designs and impossible with others, so ask before rather than after.
Silver tarnishes and that is normal. A soft cloth handles it. Keep pieces separate so harder stones do not scratch softer metal, and take rings off before anything involving chlorine.
Each piece has its own page with an enquiry form that goes straight to the maker. You agree price, payment and delivery with them. There is no commission taken out of the sale and no auction.
Everything listed is made by the artist selling it. Where a piece is one of an edition, the listing says so and the artist will tell you the edition size if you ask.
Some artists prefer to discuss price on enquiry, particularly for larger or commissioned work. Those listings show Price on enquiry rather than a number, and you get an answer by writing to them.
Many of the artists here take commissions. It is not a listed option, so ask in an enquiry and describe what you have in mind, including your budget and when you need it.
Yes. Set up an account, add a piece with photographs and measurements, and turn on public listing. Nothing is public until you say so, and the free tier does not expire.
Catalogue what you have made, give every piece a page you can send to a buyer, and appear on this one. Listing is off until you switch it on, and the free tier does not expire.
