By medium
Original illustration and the prints made from it. A good deal of Australian illustration work comes out of publishing and editorial commissions, and the originals are often available long after the book is out.
The same medium, narrowed to one state. Useful if you would rather not freight something fragile across the country.
No work listed in illustration yet
Artists choose whether their work is shown publicly, and nobody here has switched it on so far. This page fills itself in as soon as one does.
No work has been listed in illustration yet, so here is what other makers around the country currently have available. Each piece says who made it, and their page says where they work.
Check whether you are buying an original drawing or a print of one, and if it is a print, ask about the edition. Original artwork for a published book often comes with a story about where it appeared, which is worth asking for.
Same as drawing and printmaking. Glass, an acid free mount, and no direct sun. Ink and watercolour both fade, and the fading is permanent.
Each piece has its own page with an enquiry form that goes straight to the maker. You agree price, payment and delivery with them. There is no commission taken out of the sale and no auction.
Everything listed is made by the artist selling it. Where a piece is one of an edition, the listing says so and the artist will tell you the edition size if you ask.
Some artists prefer to discuss price on enquiry, particularly for larger or commissioned work. Those listings show Price on enquiry rather than a number, and you get an answer by writing to them.
Many of the artists here take commissions. It is not a listed option, so ask in an enquiry and describe what you have in mind, including your budget and when you need it.
Yes. Set up an account, add a piece with photographs and measurements, and turn on public listing. Nothing is public until you say so, and the free tier does not expire.
Catalogue what you have made, give every piece a page you can send to a buyer, and appear on this one. Listing is off until you switch it on, and the free tier does not expire.
