Artists choose whether their work is shown publicly, and nobody here has switched it on so far. This page fills itself in as soon as one does.
Ask what the species is and where it came from. Ask how it is finished, because oil, wax and lacquer need different things from you over the years. For furniture, ask how it is joined. A maker who does this properly will be glad to be asked.
Fremantle is the centre of it, with a studio and gallery scene that has been going since the eighties. Margaret River and the south west run to ceramics, glass and furniture, helped along by the visitors the wine region brings through. The Kimberley is the other story entirely: the art centres around Broome and the north produce work with an international market and nothing in common with the coastal studios.
